Box Elder Bugs
Mainly found in trees, but migrate to window sills & heavy leaf piles. Keep yards clean of unnecessary leaves & debris.
Odorous (sugar ants), Carpenter, Pavement & Harvester ants. Odorous & Pavement ants look for moisture. Carpenter ants look for dead/decaying wood to lay their Larva. Harvester ants create mounds & look for seed.
Mice & Rats
Deer & Field mice are common to the area. Field mice are everywhere. Deer mice can be found in attics, crawl spaces, garages & carry the Hauntavirus in their feces/urine. Dessert, Wood & Pack rats can be found in attics, crawl spaces & garages.
Fairly harmless in Northern Nevada, unlike Bark Scorpions in Las Vegas that can be very dangerous.
Silverfish & Springtails
Mainly found in new construction areas to feed on construction material.
Black Widows, Wolf Spiders & other common spiders look for dark areas in houses & yards.
Seek out gardens to feed on plants & shrubs.
Found outdoors, they are just a nuisance.
Found in sub-areas, looking for moisture. Dry air kills these pests.
Wasps & Hornets
No to be confused for Honey Bees, which are a protected species. Wasps nest in eaves, Yellow Jackets are usually ground-dwelling & Hornets create large (football size) nests in trees or eaves.
